On to St. Louis!

Today was a busy day! We drove from our friends' home to St. Louis and met some family at the zoo- Anna's Aunt Kathryn, Aunt Lindsey, and Uncle Darrek.

To Illinois we go!

Today we took a trip to the home of our friends Lora, Kevin and Asher on our way to St. Louis. Lora and I took the kids to the hot air balloon festival and we all had a blast!

Toddler talk

Anna's really been taking off with her speech lately. For awhile now shes's been stringing two words together, starting with "more ______." She woke me up on my birthday (about three weeks ago) with her first three word sentence- "no more mommy." :( Now her most common sentences are "more ______" or a statement of posession- "Anna's milk," "Mommy's chair," etc. It's been so fun to watch her language develop and discover what's on her mind. Two weeks ago when she was at Target she pointed to a bra and said "Anna bra" (Anna's bra- she was asking me if I would buy it for her). On Thursday we had her friend Gabe over for lunch and our conversation went something like:

Gabe: Like that cup. Bought it?
Jen: That's Anna's cup. She's sharing it with you.
Anna: Anna nice. (nodding empatically)

I cracked up at this one. Yesterday she surprised me with her first five word sentence. She pointed to her diaper and said "that's a poop in there." She was right, by the way.
