St. Louis, Day One

Today we mostly stayed around my parents house so that Anna could get back to her regular napping schedule. We did take a couple of trips out- one to a local cloth diapering store and one to the mall with Kathryn and my mom.

Trip to St. Louis

Today Anna and I had an adventure- we flew from Grand Rapids to Saint Louis all by ourselves! Anna did very well on the first flight, o.k. on our layover, and not so well on the second flight. We were very relieved to arrive safe and sound.

Tonight we went to Target to pick up Anna's first sippy cup.

We recently discovered that Anna and Lillian have matching outfits.

Tonight Bryan gave Anna a flashlight to play with.

Visitors

Today we had a visit from our friends Christine and McKeiley. We met them at the Baby & Me class through the hospital where Anna was born. McKeiley is about 6 weeks older than Anna. We took a walk to our favorite spot- the duck pond near our apartment.

McKeiley is almost crawling! Maybe she can teach Anna a thing or two.

Anna must be looking very mature this week. On Sunday she at Steak 'N Shake she was given crayons. Tonight she got a children's menu. We didn't order her any food, but we did let her gum a carrot for a little bit.

Father's Day

Today is Bryan's first Father's Day!. We celebrated by going to Steak 'N Shake.

Today was a busy and exciting day.
We went to a fair, ate corn dogs, and saw a few classic cars...

Also, my brother Michael, Mom, and Dad came to visit.

Company

This afternoon we had a visit from our friend Rachel. Anna hasn't gotten to see her since she was less than 2 weeks old!


Tonight we had a visit from our friends Dan and Sarah and their children Eion and Eva. Anna enjoyed watching the kids running around!

Six months old

Our baby girl is six months old today! She had a check-up at the doctor's office and she is 15 lbs., 10 oz. (in the 50th percentile) and 26 1/4 " long (in the 70th percentile).

Adventures in cloth

For awhile now I have been playing with the idea of cloth diapering. I hate the idea of spending so much on disposable diapers only for them to all end up in a landfill. After consulting a few friends who cloth diaper, I purchased just a few cloth diapers to experiment with. For those who are interested, we purchased four prefold diapers (this is the traditional cloth diaper that most probably think of), two inexpensive diaper covers, and one BumGenius One Size.Does this diaper make my butt look big?
