Visiting friends and the incident

This morning we went to visit my friend Bekah and her kids Seth and Daniel. Anna had a great time! Thank you for sharing your toys, Daniel and Seth!

After Anna's afternoon nap my Dad and I took her to our local library. There kids area has a really cool castle/fort-type thing that kids can climb around in. Unfortunately it's not a terribly safe toy for a toddler as young as Anna. There was no way to spot her on the stairs since it's a little small for an adult and I would have been blocking other children from playing. It got really crowded in there and somehow Anna fell and hit her face HARD against one of the steps. She scraped her chin, bit her tongue badly and sped up her teething process a little. Her molars would have come in soon anyway (you could see the bulges under her gums) but the fall definitely expedited the cutting of one or two of her teeth. She cried hard and her mouth bled a whole lot, but luckily the bleeding stopped after a few minutes. So sorry, Anne-girl!

Shortly before the fall...

... and showing off her scraped chin a couple of hours later.

Feeling much better!

New swimsuit!

Bryan drove back to Michigan today. Anna and I had a quieter day but we did go to the mall with my parents and found a cute new suit for Anna to wear this summer. Thanks for the swimsuit, Grandma and Grandpa!

Happy Easter!

Anna did pretty well at church today for about 20 minutes. Shortly into the priest's sermon she bumped her head. She cried so loud that the priest had to pause in his sermon while I quickly walked down the (LONG) aisle with her to get to the cry room at the back of the church. Apparently the priest even worked a joke about crying babies into his sermon. So, yeah, we're famous.

I never got around to taking a nice photo of Anna in her Easter dress, but you can sort of see it here. This photo was taken shortly before Anna put some Cheerios into the cat's bowl.

Is it any wonder that Anna got scratched this week?

Anna loved the Russian nesting dolls that Grandpa let her play with.

I did it!

My mom made my favorite for Easter dinner- ham with a pineapple and brown sugar sauce. Yum! Samson liked it, too.

One of my favorite Anna photos of all time. This was taken on this day last year.

The big announcement

As of Tuesday we officially own this house! Anna and I are out of town for the next week, but we'll post more details when we return.

Easter trip to St. Louis

Anna did a great job on her trip to St. Louis today!
She caught up on some calls...

... and her reading...

... and her beauty sleep.

We were very excited to see Anna's cousin Tristan when we arrived!

Anna visiting her new house

Anna has had a great time the last couple of days exploring her new house.

Our friend Laura came over to help me choose paint colors for the main floor.

Anna decided to give us a head start on the wallpaper removal.

A short tour by Anna. I tried to get her to show us more of the house but all she wanted to do was play on the stairs.

Hanging out at Applebee's

We've been trying for awhile now to show Anna how to drink from a cup. We haven't made a whole lot of headway, but she's still pretty cute :).
